THERMOTECH BLOWDOWN VESSELS are manufactured to suit a large range of boilers from small electric Hospital boilers to large Industrial systems. THERMOTECH BLOWDOWN VESSELS are manufactured to certified designs, and are manufactured to Australian Standards, and are supplied complete with a manufacturers data report. Only certified and approved materials are used in the vessels construction, with all materials being identified and included in the MDR with welding reports.
Consider the following when ordering the blowdown vessels:
- Make sure the blowdown vessel has a registered design approval number and is supplied with a manufacturers data report.
- Make sure the blowdown vessel design pressure is rated at 700 kpa, or 25% of the boiler operating pressure, whichever is lower. Ref AS4041.
- Make sure the vessel is sufficiently sized for the boiler, remember blowdown vessels are designed to displace cool water down to sewer.
- Australian Standards specify water temperature entering the sewer is to be no greater than 38 deg C.
- If a large amount of blowdown is projected, consideration should be given to installing a heat recovery system to optimise the system.
- If there is a likelihood of hot water being passed to sewer, consideration may be given to a cooling system to be installed, remember, plastic drain pipes in concrete slabs are difficult to repair when they have melted.
